Urgent! Talk by Dr. Mahathir
Dear all,
There will be a dialogue session with YABhg Tun Mahathir Mohammad on 7 July 2009, 9:30 a.m. The theme is "Leadership in Medicine & contribution to Nation Building".
We need an estimated 130 students from all the courses in IMU Bukit Jalil to attend the session as this is a very beneficial talk. However, if the response is overwhelming, more seat will be opened to more students. Those who are attending the talk will either be exempted from the class (if they have) or the class itself will be canceled.
We also need 5 questions from students to be forwarded during Q & A sessions and please kindly identify 5 students that will voice out the question. Please prepare the question by the 29th of June.
So overall we need at least 15 or more people from each batch.
Warmest regards,
Zia Shah
President SRC BJ 09/10

Tuition and 'Guidelines on H1N1 Influenza'
Dear all,
Please approach SRC if you are interested in giving tuition to a form 6 student in physics and chemistry. The student stays in Happy Garden and prefers home tuition.
Secondly, please adhere to the new guideline regarding H1N1 influenza.
INTERNATIONAL MEDICAL UNIVERSITY
H1N1 INFLUENZA
GUIDELINES FOR STUDENTS AND STAFF
In view of the increasing number of H1N1 influenza cases in the country and the occurrence of local transmission, all students and staff are strongly urged to adhere the following guidelines:
1. Hand hygiene is the single most important measure in preventing infection so
o Clean your hands regularly and frequently.
o Wash your hands with soap and water, and dry them thoroughly.
o Use alcohol-based handrub if you don’t have immediate access to soap and water.
o IMU will be providing alcohol handrub dispensers at designated locations like laboratories and the skills centre but all students and staff are strongly advised to carry on your person a small bottle of the alcohol hand rub. This is readily available at most pharmacies.
2. If you have symptoms of influenza like fever, cough, sore throat and body aches do not come to the university.
o Go and see a doctor immediately.
o Follow all local public health recommendations.
o Keep your distance from well individuals as much as possible (at least 1 metre or 3 feet).
o Cover your mouth and nose when coughing or sneezing, with tissues or other suitable materials, to contain respiratory secretions. Dispose of the material immediately after use or wash it.
o Clean hands immediately after contact with respiratory secretions.
o Improve airflow in your living space by opening windows as much as possible.
WE REQUIRE EVERYONE’S COOPERATION TO PREVENT H1N1 IN IMU.
Warmest regards,
Zia Shah

Longest public speaking event
Dear all,
If you find this interesting, pls help me inform the others. Sorry if it's too late, cuz i just got to know bout it as well. :) Thank you!!
Guys, this event is held in my former college, INTEC. It's an attempt to break
the national record for longest public speaking event. It's multilingual meaning
you guys can deliver your speech in any language such as Malay, English,
Chinese, Tamil, Japanese, etc. And one speaker can speak more than once and
minimum time is 7 min. Few rules are imposed to ensure the record is valid such
as one shouldnt pause for more than 30 secs. I believe this is a great
opportunity for talented speakers out there to join this event. I attached
together the appendices for your reference.
THE DATELINE FOR SUBMISSION IS WEDNESDAY NOON. IF YOU'RE INTERESTED, PLS GIVE ME
YOUR DETAILS ACCORDING TO THE APPLICATION FORM(batch rep forwarded to your personal emails) BEFORE THE DATELINE YA. THANKS!
